Your success is important to us! Throughout your college experience, Hocking College is here to provide you with academic support. If you need help with courses or want tips on how to improve your skills, contact one or more of the following:

Faculty Advising
All students at Hocking College have an advisor with his or her technology. Your faculty advisor will meet with you at least once a quarter to design a class schedule that will fit your individual needs and keep you on the right academic track. Contact your academic apartment to learn more about your faculty advisor.

Access Center
The Access Center assists students with physical disabilities, health problems, and/or those with learning disabilities. Visit us to find the right fit for your learning style!

Bookstore
Hocking College's bookstore has everything you need from textbooks and supplies to clothing items. For your convenience, the bookstore is located near the main building and accepts cash, major credit cards and personal checks.
Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 6:00 pm Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm

College and Career Success Center (Oakley 210)
Provides opportunities for students to assess and build personal strengths. Services include individual success planning, career advising, job placement assistance, interview and resume advising, specialized Academic Advising, college referral services, withdrawal decision/processing from Hocking College. Students may come to the center for equity compliance issues and for resolution of grievances. The center also houses Campus Ministry, open to all faiths, and the Athens County Retention Program, a support service for qualified residents of Athens County. Contact 740-753-6095 or 6096. The center works in conjunction with the Health and Wellness Center located in JL 241.

Health and Wellness Center (JL 241)
Provides individual and group counseling for students. Works as an impartial and objective resource to help students resolve concerns or complaints originating on campus. Provides over-the-counter mediations, and health promotion information. Contact 740-753-7100 or 7101.

English for Speakers of Other Languages
If you are learning English as a second language and would like assistance in the English Support Program, consider Carla Ryan-Hurst (ryan_c@hocking.edu) at 740-753-6127. There are five levels of English that they can help you attain.

Hocking College Library
When you need to research a class project, study with a group of friends or connect to the Internet, visit the Hocking College Library and media collections. The staff will be happy to help find the information you need.

Math Skills
Feeling a bit math-phobic? Don't! Contact Roxanne Barrows at 740-753-6162 or email at barrows_r@hocking.edu.

Quest for Success
Begin your educational journey with Quest for Success! Not only will you learn valuable skills like note-taking, effective study habits, and test-taking strategies, but you'll make new friends on the caving, canoeing and camping trips that are part of Quest for Success! Contact Giles Lee at 740-753-6539.

PACE
Do you enjoy working at your own speed and convenience? The Personally Accelerated Career Education (PACE) lab is a unique way to fit college into your busy life. You can enroll in selected classes any time the college is in session and visit the lab when it's a good time for you!

Portfolio Development
Your experience- employment, community service or military service, may qualify for college credit! We will help you develop a portfolio that showcases your experiences, putting you closer to reaching your educational goals.

The Learning Connection (TLC)
A program for first-generation or low-income students, TLC can lend a hand and encourage you to reach your goals. Contact TLC at 740-753-7113 or 7112.

The Testing Center 
Miss a test? Need to take an assessment test? Talk to your professor, schedule your test, and then visit the Testing Center located in JL 363A. You must schedule your test so that your test will be completed before closing.

Fall/Winter/Spring Qtr
Mon-Thurs. 10am - 4pm
Fri. 10am-2:30pm

Summer Quarter
Mon-Fri 10am-2pm

Note: The center is closed on all Holidays and Break Weeks. You must present your Student ID or Drivers license. No tests will be given 15 minutes prior to closing.

Transfer Services
Attended another college or university before coming to Hocking? Let us know, and we'll provide advising and evaluation of previous college transcripts. Thought about transferring on after you're finished studying at Hocking? Transfer and articulation services are available too!
