Travel to the Bahamas!

Study in a tropical paradise at Forfar Field Station, which serves as a learning lab for Hocking College students in several degree programs and for special short-term courses.

  • Experience the exhilaration of sailing in a 46-foot sailboat.
  • Create your own chickee hut in a cultural immersion study.
  • Dive the barrier coral reef close to an ocean chasm.
  • Venture to the next cays (small islands) over in a sea kayak.
  • Encounter odd creatures in tidal pools, learn about the formation of the coral reef, or observe a rare orchid.

Learn sub-tropical ecology by exploring the 3rd largest barrier reef in the world. Discover sailing, SCUBA diving, or windsurfing, and experience Bahamian culture with local artisans. Two Hocking College degree programs include one quarter of study at Forfar Field Station:

Learning Adventures are available to others besides Hocking College students. Engage in a short-term course in the Bahamas for college credit. Choose your own learning adventure or continuing education credit, offered fall and winter quarters.

For more information about Forfar Field Station or continuing education, please visit the International Field Studies (IFS) website. IFS is Hocking’s partner, offering learning adventure around the globe.
