Accounting

As you look at the task of auditing the year-end books, your hands wring with anticipation. What am I going to find this year? Did we stay within budget? If anyone can balance the budget, you can, because numbers are your training. Check out Accounting.

The Program
If you want to work in accounting, you have to be prepared. Learn how to work in for-profit and non-profit organizations through experience in non-profit accounting, cost accounting, payroll accounting, federal taxation, and auditing. You'll learn to use commercial software packages such as Peachtree, MS Excel, Lotus 1-2-3, AM-Tax, and Quickbooks software.

Talk about convenience! Scheduling courses in the accounting program around your schedule will be easy! Take the entire program at Hocking's main campus in Nelsonville during the day or evening; or, check out Hocking's Perry County Campus in New Lexington, which offers a full day program!

This technology is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs.

Learn By Doing
Every accounting student spends at least one quarter in the real world of accounting- with a local agency or business. You'll try out the skills you've learned in your hands-on simulations from class, and be the one that the practicum sites count on to keep their books in order!

Join a business club/organization that will increase your marketability!

  • Kappa Beta Delta Business Honor Society
  • Accounting Club
