Growing concern for the environment has increased the need for technicians qualified in the restoration of environmentally unstable land, water and air. Hocking College's Environmental Restoration technology prepares you to meet this need.

Hocking's Environmental Restoration technology received the 1997 Renew America national award for educational institutions that combine environmental training with various public and government sectors to restore environmentally unstable land, water and air!

Learn By Doing
Are you ready to try out some of this equipment? 75 - 80% of your class time is hands on. Become proficient in operating small, medium and large dozers, track hoes, excavators, rubber-tire backhoes, and off-road dump trucks. Learn about safety, maintenance procedures, pre-checks, start up and actual operation of this equipment. Each quarter you can earn a certificate of equipment competency!

You'll train at actual work sites- strip mines, gob piles, railroads, canals, ponds, lakes, roads and landfills.

Jobs for Grads
Out of the Box - Right after graduating grads find jobs with utility companies, state agencies, private contractors, environmental companies, strip mines, timber harvesting companies, pipe lines and more!

Starting salaries range from $11.40 - 15.00 per hour!

Down the Road - With additional training and experience, grads move up the ladder to become supervisors and managers, increasing their earning potential along the way!
