- Hocking is the largest two-year natural resources school in the United States with an average of 1000 students enrolled.
- Unique learning labs include our 2300 park like campus, a fish hatchery, Lake Snowden Education and Recreation Park, Robbins Crossing Living History Museum, and the Hocking Woods Nature Center.
- The Environmental Restoration Technology received the Renew America national award for educational institutions.
- Ecotourism and Adventure Travel students gain first-hand experience at international lab sites including the Forfar Field Station on Andros Island in the Bahamas.
- Ecotourism and Adventure Travel Technology is the only two-year program of its kind in the State of Ohio.
- Ohio Board of Regents Program Excellence Awards were awarded to the Forestry and Recreation and Wildlife Technologies.
- Natural and Historical Interpretation is the only two year program in the United States offering unique labs such as Robbins Crossing Nature Site, Nature Center and Star Labs.

Exploring the Amazon Jungle
From fishing for piranha to saving a sloth who'd been thrown from her tree in a storm, these HC students had many stories to tell about their trip down the Rio Negro and Amazon rivers!

Costa Rica Comes Alive!
Students studied the tropical plants and animals commonly found in Central America, and spent time exploring several ecosystems! They had the opportunity to check out Atlantic coastal beaches, lowland interior forests, mountain cloud forests, and highland dry forests!

NR students hit Australia and New Zealand! After tracing the development of ecotourism down under, students visited koala and wallaby sanctuaries and had time for exotic bird-watching!

Bahamas Barrier Reef Adventures
Annually, HC Ecotourism students begin their college careers at Forfar Field Station on Andros Island in the Bahamas. Between studying the flora and fauna of the island and the amazing creatures on the barrier reef, they squeeze in some time for sailing, snorkeling and scuba diving! |
