The Program

This unique program is one of the School of Natural Resource’s newest programs. Husqvarna, a global leader of outdoor products, has partnered with the college to launch this two-year degree program. Major landscape, tree care and lawn care companies across the country have an increasing need for qualified crew chiefs to join their staff. Hocking College’s program will teach you the skills of landscape design, horticulture, supervision and leadership and project development to attain these career needs.

Learn By Doing

All of the degree programs in the School of Natural Resources embrace the hands-on philosophy of teaching, Landscape Management is no exception. The majority of class time in this program is spent in the field involving various classes including tree climbing, equipment classes, landscape projects, dendrology, field botany and many others. The 2300 acres of the Hocking College campus will serve as an optimal lab setting for these classes.

Jobs for Grads

Job placement for graduates of this program will be outstanding given that this program was developed in conjunction with Husqvarna to better serve their industry clients. These landscape, tree care and lawn care companies throughout North America have a need for educated and trained crew chiefs. Theses companies have voiced their concern to Husqvarna. These result is a unique and custom built degree program that will have a plethora of employers waiting to hire our graduates.

Our curriculum is an accelerated 18-month program that places you in the workforce as the busy landscaping season begins. The corporate alliance with our international partner, Husqvarna, will provide you with a competitive edge over others in the field through training on premier equipment and internships.
