Organize your program in one of two ways:

  • Begin any quarter and take the Police Officer Basic Training program (2 quarters) at any time during your two-year program.
Augment your police science knowledge with some of the special law enforcement classes flexibly scheduled on evenings and/or weekends or consider some additional certificates to increase your marketability:

  • Homicide Investigation
  • Kupotan/Persuader Impact Weapons
  • Aikido Self Defense
  • VIP Protection § Public Safety Service Officer I & II
  • First Responder
  • Unarmed Self Defense

(for a complete list, contact the Public Safety Department.)

Learn By Doing
At our 9-1-1 Training Center, deal with Police, Fire & EMS and disaster emergencies. Analyze evidence with the latest lab equipment. Drive a squad car with the siren wailing through a defensive driving course. Learn Tactical Training and Combat Firearms Training. Experience two practicum experiences inside of a real law enforcement agency, in the 9-1-1 Radio Room and on Ride Along. You won't just read about law enforcement, you'll put your hands on it and experience it!

Jobs for Grads
Out of the Gate - Right after graduating grads find jobs at probate, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. Some work at municipal police departments, County sheriff's departments, etc.
