The Student Support Services (SSS) program called The Learning Connection (TLC) is a federally funded TRIO program at Hocking College designed to assist and encourage first-generation and low-income students, as well as those with disabilities, to achieve. The program helps students develop the skills and motivation necessary to successfully complete a college education. TLC's goal is to increase the retention, graduation and transfer rates of participants and to foster an institutional climate that is supportive of success. TLC Offers the Following Services:
TLC is funded to serve 190 students on a campus where over 60 percent meet one or both of the criteria, of either a first-generation or low-income student. TLC is 100 percent funded by an annual grant of $290,517 from the United States Department of Education. |
