There are several abbreviations that appear on your schedule when you print it. Here is a summary of those that you might find:
CRS-SECT:
Usually looks something like COMM
121 011.
Course # = COMM 121 in the sample above. This indicates a specific course at Hocking College.
Section # = 011 in the
sample above. This indicates which specific section
(time, location, instructor etc.) you have selected.
Several sections of each course may be offered each
quarter. Changing the section number as you register
will change when & where your course will meet.
Section numbers tell you how the course is organized, too.
- 011 - 029 and 31 - 40 = Traditional day classes
- 044-059 = PACE day classes
- 090-099 = Traditional evening classes
- 060- 066 = PACE evening classs
COURSE NAME:
Tells the official name of your course. Some words may be abbreviated.
CRD:
Credit Hours. Describes how many credit hours the course is worth.
DAYS:
Tells which days the course meets. Days are abbreviated using the following system:

BEG/END:

ROOM:

Indicates the faculty member who will be teaching the course for this section.
DATES:
You will see two dates below each course. These dates indicate when the course begins and ends. Some courses begin at the start of the quarter and end on the last day of the quarter (approximately 11 weeks). Other courses may only occur over the course of a weekend. |
