The steps outlined below are the best way to go about registering for next quarter's classes. Click on the step for more specific information on what to do.
For recommended dates complete each step, check out Dates to Remember
Step 1 - Clear your account (have a zero balance)- before Priority Registration Begins.
Prepare to take advantage of Priority Registration (the privilege of returning students who can register ahead of incoming students, based on the # of credit hours you've earned already) by insuring that you do not owe any money to Hocking College from the current quarter.
To check your account, visit your Personal Information Page.
You will need your Access Code & Secret Word to
access your page.
A clear balance (no money owed) is necessary to register for the upcoming quarter.
Step 2 - Meet with your Advisor & Get a Block Schedule- starting Advising week or before you register.
Starting one week before Priority Registration, you can meet with your Faculty Advisor. (If you do not know who your advisor is, contact your Academic Department.)
During this meeting, plan to:
Review Your Graduation Analysis- discuss the following:
- Courses completed.
- Courses in which you are currently enrolled.
- Courses still needed to complete your degree.
View Your Graduation Analysis.
Block Schedule- get
it, review it, amend it if needed
(with your Advisor). |
Every academic department prepares block schedules for continuing students. Your block schedule is a recommended list of classes for the coming quarter.
Discuss any changes to the block schedule with your advisor, but remember- block schedules help you to stay on track toward graduation.
Don't forget- there are deadlines for changing your schedule. Check out Dates To Remember.
