Your right to know

Crime statistics for Hocking College’s Main campus, Perry campus and Lake Snowden campus are also available on the Hocking College Crimes and Arrests Statistics web site.

Law requires public property that is "reasonably contiguous" to the campus be included in the reported crime statistics. Hocking College and the City of Nelsonville combine to form a tight knit community. Hocking College considers the entire City of Nelsonville to be "reasonably contiguous." As such, the public property statistics include the entire city's crime statistics and do not necessarily represent incidents involving students or employees of Hocking College. For questions regarding public property statistics, please contact Nelsonville Police Department at (740) 753-1922.

Campus Crime Alert

The Campus Crime Alert is designed to inform the College Community of crimes committed on or near campus in order to heighten safety awareness as well as to request information that will assist the Hocking College Police Department or other local law enforcement agencies in the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator when crimes have been committed against persons or property.

When a crime that presents a threat to the safety of the members of the Hocking College Community is reported to the Campus Police Department or another local police agency, the Hocking College Police Department will issue a Campus Crime Alert. Every attempt will be made to issue the Alert within 24 hours from the time the incident was reported, however, the release of the Alert is subject to the availability of facts concerning the incident. The Alert will be distributed through a network of on-campus offices, residence halls, as well as electronically to the College Community.
