The Early Learning Center follows the Hocking College schedule, and closes for the following holidays:

• Veteran's Day
• Thanksgiving and following day
• Martin Luther King Day
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day

We are also closed Spring Break and over the summer.

The Early Learning Center will follow the Hocking College closing criteria for bad weather/snow days. If Hocking College is open, the Early Learning Center will be open also. Parents/guardians will be contacted by phone in the event the Center must close due to an unforeseen emergency (such as water pipe bursts, room temperatures extremely cold, and power outage.) If the ELC closes for inclement weather, if the College closes or if there is a Center emergency, no one will be charged for that day.

Weather Emergency

The Early Learning Center is equipped with a radio so that the staff can always be aware of threatening weather conditions. Children will participate in daily outdoor activities except when temperatures fall below 20 degrees (Fahrenheit or wind chill) or rises above 95 degrees (Fahrenheit or heat index.) If severe weather conditions start after the daily program has begun, parents/guardians may pick the children up early from the center. The Center will be open as usual unless Hocking College closes.
