NELSONVILLE – Hocking College and Tri-County Adult Career Center are partnering to offer esthetician courses spring and summer quarters that will prepare individuals for the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology Esthetician exam, according to Myriah Short, dean of New College at Hocking College. Estheticians are professionals in spas or salons licensed to provide skin care treatments. “These are the only licensed esthetician classes in the area and students are able to complete the 600 hour program in two quarters that makes them eligible to sit for the State Board exam,” Short explained, adding that Spa students at Hocking College can take the courses as electives but the courses are also available to the public.
Learn more about these two 12-credit hour courses held on Tri-County’s campus and other Spa degree programs, by attending Spa Sense 2007 on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 6 p.m. at the Inn at Hocking College. Registration and specific dates and times for spring and summer quarter esthetician courses are available at 753-7123.
