Ground Braking :: The Inn at Hocking College getting a new look

NELSONVILLE – The Inn at Hocking College is getting a new look. Ground was broken Wednesday and construction is expected to begin in late June for the $4.3 million project that will bring new classrooms, laboratories and office space for the School of Hospitality. The Inn’s lobby area and exterior will also be significantly altered during the renovation.

New facilities will include a demonstration kitchen, a butchering and meat prep area, a temperature controlled chocolate kitchen, a pastry kitchen, a computer lab and other lab/practice kitchens.

Mike Gary, one of 25 international members of the McClenaghan Center Board that serves in an advisory capacity to the School of Hospitality, said he expects to return often during the renovation and construction project. “We want to continually make improvements to this facility that helps us turn out outstanding graduates who find first rate jobs in the culinary arts and hotel restaurant management careers.”

Taking part in the groundbreaking were students Kristin Cruickshank and Andie Henry, hospitality students; Hocking College Board of Trustees Chairman Larry Willard, Dr. Roy Palmer, HC Senior Vice President; Tom Lambrecht, Dean of the School of Hospitality; Mike Gary, McClenaghan Board and Clyde Henry, Triad Architects.
