Important Information for international students who wish to study Nursing at Hocking College:
There is a waiting list to get into the clinical portion of your nursing degree. If your application is complete, your clinical quarter start date might not arrive for 12-18 months. While you wait clinical placement, you are REQUIRED to maintain full-time enrollment, 3 of 4 quarters at Hocking College.
Example: You might complete all of your nursing (pre-clinical) classes in 5 quarters of study. Then you have an additional 5 quarters to await your clinical placement. During those 5 quarters that you wait, YOU MUST be enrolled full-time. To not be enrolled places you in jeopardy of status violation and possible deportation.
The International Student Services office recommends that you enroll in another course of study, or enroll in coursework to complete your bachelor's degree in Nursing while you await your clinical placement.
All of your options will be fully explained to you upon arrival but it is important that you understand at the application stage that a degree in nursing might force you to remain at Hocking College for longer then you expected and most importantly, cost you additional money.
