District Scholars Tuition Assistance Program
Who is eligible for the District Scholars Tuition Assistance Program?
High school graduates from Athens, Fairfield, Hocking, Perry, Pickaway, or Ross counties are eligible for up to one year after high school graduation.
How do I apply?
The scholarship is not automatic! You must apply for it… but if you are eligible and you complete all necessary steps, you will automatically be a District Scholars recipient!
There are 3 easy steps:
Step 1 - Apply to Hocking College
You must be accepted and enroll within 1 year of your high school graduation date. Call Admissions at 1-877-HOCKING if you are unsure of your eligibility.
Step 2 - Complete and submit the District Scholar Application and Contract.

Step 3 - Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (or FAFSA).
You must apply for the Pell Grant and the Ohio Instruction Grant.
How much scholarship money will I receive?
District Scholars Tuition Assistance money is based on your parent's Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) and will be applied toward tuition only, after any grants you've received from the federal or state governments.
Here are the award determination guidelines:
| $40,000 or Less |
District Scholars pays up to the full tuition amount that is not already covered by GRANTS |
| $40,001 - $55,000 |
District Scholars pays up to $635 of tuition not covered by grants |
| Over $55,000 |
District Scholars pays up to $425 of tuition not covered by grants |
