Move-In and Move-Out Information
Summer Semester - 2016
Move-in for Summer Semester is scheduled for Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. for both new and returning students. To check in to your summer room assignment, simply go to Downhour Hall. Staff will be available in the lobby at that time to assist you with the check in process. There will be a brief introductory meeting for residential students Sunday evening. The time for this meeting will be provided upon check-in. Due to limited staffing for the summer break, no move-ins will be permitted prior to the scheduled check-in time.
Downhour Hall is the only hall available for summer occupancy.
Room assignments for Summer Semester are currently underway for those students that have payment in place (see below). Notification of assignment is being provided via US standard mail. Questions regarding assignment can be direct to the housing office.
Autumn Semester 2016: Move-In
Move-in will take place in two different phases. Move-in for those students registered for Smart Start will take place on Saturday and Sunday, August 13th and 14th from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. with Smart Start officially kicking off Sunday evening. There will be orientations held thoughout the day for Smart Start. More information will be mailed out as this date gets closer.

First year students who opt not to register for Smart Start OR students not registered for Smart Start can move-in either Saturday, August 20th or Sunday, August 21st. Check-in times are from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. in the lobbies of the assigned buildings.
Room assignments will be made three to four weeks prior to the beginning of the term for those students that have payment in place (see Housing Payment below). Students will be notified via US Mail or telephone of their assignment and roommate information.
Autumn Semester 2016 Check-Out and Winter Break
The residence halls will close for the 2016-2017 winter break at 12pm, noon, on December 10th, 2016. Prior to departure, all residential students must check out with a Residence Life staff member. The Residence Life staff will have a meeting the week prior to finals to cover all necessary closing information. Residents are not required to move out of their assigned rooms for the break period and will be assigned to the same room for the following Spring Semester. However, a Residence Life staff member must inspect the student's room to ensure that there are no hazards left in the room over the break period. Failure to check-out with a staff member may result in an improper check-out fee.
No residents will be permitted in the residence halls after 12pm on December 10th until the halls reopen for Spring Semester (see Spring Semester 2017 below).
Spring Semester 2017: Move-In
Move-in is scheduled for Sunday, January 8, 2017 for both new and returning students. The check-in process will begin at 9 a.m. and run through 6 p.m. Room assignments will take place after January 1st, 2017 for those students with payment in place (see below). Students will be notified via US Mail or telephone of their assignment and roommate information after this date.
Spring Break: 2017
The residence halls will remain open during the break period, March 6th-10th, 2017. Students are permitted to be in the halls during this time.
Spring Semester 2017: Check-Out
The residence halls will close for the 2015-2016 academic year at 12 p.m. noon, on May 6th, 2016, for those students not graduating. For those students graduating, check-out must be completed by 5 p.m. the same day. Prior to departure, all residential students must check out with a Residence Life staff member. The Residence Life staff will have a meeting the week prior to finals to cover all necessary closing information. All students must check-out of their residential assignment by the building closing deadline, even if the student is a planning on residing on campus for the summer term. Failure to check-out with a Residence Life staff member may result in an improper check-out fee.
Students will not be permitted to move into the residence halls until payment is secured for their assignment. Payment in full or enrollment in the payment plan must be in place prior to the payment deadline. Applicants submitting an application past the payment deadline must have payment in place or be enrolled in the payment plan at the time of application. Payments or payment plan enrollment can be made via Cashier's Office (740.753.7029). Payment deadlines for the 2016-17 academic year are as follows:
