Award-Winning Author on Sex-Trafficking to Speak of Experience

Wed, Nov 13th, 2013

Award-winning author Theresa Flores will visit Hocking College to speak about her experience with sex trafficking on Tuesday, November 19 from 1 - 4 p.m. in the Student Center.

Theresa Flores is a survivor. As a 16-year-old girl in a well-to-do white suburban neighborhood, Theresa survived two years of being trafficked to men in their 20's and 30's. Theresa will speak out on the reality of human trafficking in the U.S.

Flores has visited multiple universities as well as made appearances on the 700 Club, the Today Show and MSNBC's Sex Slaves-The Teen Trade segment. Her book was the best-seller list in the categories of family law, child abuse, women's studies and political science. Her books will be available for sale before and after the event.

Faculty and staff are invited to attend, as well as to bring entire classes of students and student organizations.
