One Hocking Diversity Training

The Diversity Without Division Alliance of Hocking College introduces its first ever One Hocking Diversity and Inclusion Training. The program will:

  • Create a heightened awareness of how historical, social, and structural dimensions affect contemporary intergroup relations.
  • Empower participants with resources.
  • Enhance professional networks to in order to provide diversity programming to their organizations and communities.

The cohort members will engage in an interactive learning environment that includes hands-on exercises, as well as small and large group discussions that provide participants the opportunity to share and explore ideas and concepts regarding diversity and inclusion.

Specific Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will be able to identify their own cultural bias and how it impacts their communication and relationships with others.
  • Participants will have an increased awareness of how their life experiences have shaped their existing perceptions of diversity.
  • Participants will have a raised awareness of levels and positions of privilege and marginalization.

Intended Audience:

Faculty and Staff in K-12, Two-Year Community Colleges and Community Members

The Inn at Hocking College does not have overnight accommodations. A list of area, hotels, motels and cabins can be provided upon request.

Cost:

$50, which includes a continental breakfast and lunch.
