Hocking College Summer Experience Camp provides students 13-18 years old with a first-hand opportunity to participate in their future careers. Campers will select the program of their choice and receive instruction from our Hocking College faculty and staff each day, while living on our beautiful campus during the fun and educational week.

For residential campers, the busy day turns into a fun-filled evening with activities including pool parties, barbeques, bonfires, team competitions and other events. Students not only experience our unique programs-they will also make lifelong friends.

Archaeology Camp:

Dig Hocking!

Come join our staff of professional archaeologists in the exploration of Hocking Valley's prehistoric and historic past. Work on a real excavation and help piece together the story of early settlers; includes behind the scenes tour of the Hocking College Archaeological Laboratory and Curation facility. Assist laboratory staff with cleaning, cataloging and preservation of artifacts. Campers will develop their own interpretations of the artifacts they discover by using modern techniques of archaeological methods and theories.

Culinary/Hospitality Camp:

Be your own top chef!

The culinary camp experience provides you a taste of hospitality, as you spend the week getting hands-on training in our kitchens with our faculty chefs. Learn new recipes, or put a new spin on some of your old favorites, in the camp where you can actually eat your homework!

Police, Fire and Emergency Services Camp:

Training Tomorrow's Heroes Today

Make a difference in the police, fire and emergency services camp. Examine a crime scene, go through fingerprinting techniques, learn CPR, basic first aid, feel what it's like to breathe like a firefighter, and much more with our skilled faculty.

Rock n' Roll Camp:

I Wanna Rock!

Campers will write and record original compositions individually and in groups. You will learn and perfect the basic fundamentals of song writing and composition including work on concept, structure, lyric, harmony and rhythm. Use our Mac lab and studio to learn both sides of the recording experience. Students who play a musical instrument are encouraged to bring them.
