We’ve all grown accustomed to having information readily available via our web browsers. In addition to maintaining the College’s main web presence; this team brings more streamlined processes and services to the web. What we doStrategyWe develop web strategies that support the needs of our students, faculty, staff, and community.
DesignWe provide wireframe, functionality, and database design for web applications.
DevelopmentWe develop web applications based on design parameters, coding standards, best industry practices.
Online LearningWe provide support for our institutions Learning Management System.
MaintenanceWe maintain all our institutions official web presences.
TrainingWe can provide training documentation for all supported web applications.
How we do itWeb RequestsWeb requests are submitted via our ticketing system, which allows us to prioritize our projects, and keeps the user informed of the status of their request. Requests are prioritized in accordance with our campuses institutional goals. Online Learning RequestThese requests are generally done by instructors. A request for the Online Learning system consists of course creation requests, account creation, adding students to their courses, and general administrative maintenance to the LMS. For more information on Online Learning processes and requests, documentation is available upon request. ResearchAfter receiving a request, research is done to determine what requirements are needed to facilitate the user’s request. Some of things we look for; is this a new project, an update, what system(s) does this interact with, is integration necessary, and hardware requirements. DesignOnce the requirements for a project have been gathered, we will begin the design phase. Within this phase the project’s wireframes, layout, functionality, and information architecture are produced. We also begin gathering content at this time. We do not provide graphic design. DevelopmentDuring this stage of a project we work toward turning your request into reality. At this point all requirements have been gathered and content is ready for placement. We make sure that in development that all projects meet coding standards, and data is secured. TestingThe testing period lets us determine what unresolved issues might still exist. We check to make sure that all functionality works as expected, navigation links properly, and that all security measures are in place and functioning correctly. DeploymentOnce the project passes all testing, we can launch the site. Once a site is successfully deployed we can monitor the site and gather statistics to determine what the site is doing well, and what areas need improvement. MaintenanceThe site is then provided ongoing maintenance to ensure that the end user’s experience does not suffer. This is usually done by updating content such as text, images, and sometimes new features may be necessary. |
