The Bachelor of Science in Public Administration offered by the University of Rio Grande through the University Center is designed to educate future leaders. Public Administration is the study and practice of the management of public organizations. Organizational detail, personnel and material resources management, financial accounting and control, legal and professional standards of accountability, and decision making and policy making are all broad areas of concern to aspiring supervisors and staff personnel in the public sector.

All courses are taught at Hocking College by a combination of Rio Grande and HC professors.

Admissions

A minimum of 80 quarter credit hours must be earned at HC prior to being admitted into the University Center. Students who have earned an associate degree may apply to the University Center at any time.

Hocking College graduates are guaranteed admission into the University of Rio Grande. Two applications are required:

  • HC University Center Application (submit to Kensey Kessler, HC John Light Hall 193)
  • University of Rio Grande Admission Application (submit to Mark Abell, University of Rio Grande).

Application fees are not required for either institution unless your associate degree was earned from a college/university other than Hocking College. In this case, students are required to pay the $15 HC application fee.

Submit college transcripts to Mark Abell, University of Rio Grande for an evaluation detailing courses required in the BS program.
