Born and raised in upstate New York, Wayne taught high school science before attending medical school at Ohio University-Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM)
. He finished his Family Medicine residency in 1999 and has practiced traditional Family Medicine until last summer. He temporarily held the title as Program Director for the Family Medicine Residency at the hospital in Bluefield, West Virginia.
Wayne has 3 grown children and 6 grandkids in the Athens County area. His interests include piano, agriculture, and fishing. Until a couple years ago, he also ran a faith-based free clinic where, with the help of family and a few others, saw at no charge those that were medically uninsured.
