Eleanor A. Minister Scholarship

Eleanor Minister was a resident of Athens County and a strong supporter of community and civic organizations. She was Director of Alumni Records at Ohio University and was a leader in the Athens Business and Professional Women's Club. Eleanor had a special place in her heart for those with physical disabilities, and she served for many years as the administrator of the Athens County Society for Crippled Children and Adults.

The scholarship was established to honor Eleanor and her dedication to the physically disabled. The scholarship is available to students with a documented physical disability who are residents of Athens County. Funds may be used for educational expenses including tuition, fees, books, room, board and transportation.

Marian Schaefer Sinsel Scholarship

Marian Schaefer Sinsel and her husband, Wayne Melvin Sinsel, were business owners and residents of Logan, Ohio. Marian served as Logan City Treasurer for 10 years.

The scholarship fund was established through a gift annuity agreement with Marian. Marian's wish was for her contribution to go to help those with a hearing impairment or those training to work with the hearing impaired. Further, qualifying students must be from Hocking County, with students from Morgan and Jackson counties being considered. Awardees must maintain an appropriate grade point average.
