Career Planning

What is Career Exploration?

By exploring numerous occupations and then narrowing it down to the careers that will use your unique career skills, interests, and values to find a career that works for you.

Why is Career Planning Important?

When a student takes time to research the careers they are interested in, it allows them to make an informed choice on which academic programs will benefit them, thus leading to increased success.

Additionally, knowledge of career options encourages them to work toward and develop their intended career goals that reach far beyond their years at Hocking College. When a student plans for their future and sets goals past the point of obtaining that first job, long term success is far more likely. Online sites such as LearnEarnRetire, help with identifying and working towards these goals that could be five, 10, 15, 20 years down the road.
