Ready-to-Work Phlebotomy

Complete this introductory Phlebotomy course in just 6 weeks! This non-credit course provides an introduction to the Medical Laboratory Profession (MLT), safety in the lab, OSHA, universal precautions, lab equipment, quality control, maintenance, and phlebotomy. Basic blood collection techniques by venipuncture and capillary sticks will be covered and practiced in the laboratory under supervision. Students who complete this course may earn the following industry-recognized credential: Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) through National Health Career Association (NHA).
Ready-to-Work HVAC
Course Fee: $1,700

Earn your NATE Ready-to-Work Certificate in less than 8 weeks! The NATE Ready-to-Work Program is a non-credit course designed to cultivate new technicians into the industry with the essential skills needed to start a career in HVAC. Topics include: Employability Skills, HVACR Applied Math, Building Systems, Basic Hand and Power Tools, Intro to HVAC Systems, and OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety. NATE Ready-to-Work Exam is included.
Ready-to-Work CDL Class B
Course Fee: $2,500
Dates: May 15 - May 27 & September 11 - September 22, 2023 (Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm)
Earn your Class B Commercial Driver License in less than two weeks! A Class B CDL lets you drive a single vehicle weighing 26,001 pounds or more without a trailer. It also allows you to operate any vehicle towing a trailer that weighs less than 10,000 pounds. The following are some of the types of vehicles that may be driven with a Class B: straight trucks, buses, box trucks (including delivery trucks and furniture trucks), and qualifying dump trucks. Note: this list is not exhaustive and additional endorsements may be required for some vehicles.

Participants who complete a Ready-to-Work program may be eligible to earn industry-recognized certifications. After completing a Ready-to-Work program, students may continue relevant coursework to pursue an Associate of Technical Study.
Advanced Welding Certificate

A comprehensive, beginner-to-advanced training in welding using a variety of course and AWS certification models that allows trainees to personalize their training. Courses include ARC, MIG, TIG, soldering, brazing, metallurgy fundamentals, structural stick welding, pipe welding and positioning, and high-pressure pipe and piping systems.

Commercial Driver’s License (Class A)

Heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers transport goods from one location to another. Most tractor-trailer drivers are long-haul drivers and operate trucks with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) capacity—that is, the combined weight of the vehicle, passengers, and cargo—exceeding 26,000 pounds. These drivers deliver goods over intercity routes, sometimes spanning several states.
Hocking College's Commercial Truck Driver Training School offers truck driver training in a variety of course models to fit any timeline. The training program courses vary in intensity and duration and can be utilized by new students, existing students, and corporate sponsors.
Tuition includes DOT physical, CDL permit, CDL test, and license fee. Grant funding is available through the Ohio Department of Higher Education Short Term Certificate Grant Program. For more information, contact Adam Fowler, Dean of Workforce Development.
Heavy Equipment Operators Certificate

The Heavy Equipment Operator Certificate provides training and experience in the operation of heavy equipment. In addition, the fundamentals of equipment maintenance and repair are also included.
Various materials used in these industries and the formulas used to calculate the types and amounts needed of these items, as well as the terminology used to communicate efficiently with others in the workplace are also covered.
The hands-on training emphasizes safety and includes maintenance procedures, pre-start checks, shut down procedures and optical or laser grade checking instruments.
These skills help individuals interested in entering the various industries that use heavy equipment to build, maintain and advance communities and infrastructure.
Water Treatment Operator Certificate

Hocking College offers a multi-course certificate program that prepares students to take the Water Supply or Water Distribution exams approved by the Ohio EPA. Graduates of this program become Drinking Water Supply Operators or Water Distribution Operators as well as becoming involved in other aspects of drinking water supply and distribution.
Wastewater Treatment Operator Certificate

The Canine Certificate program will allow students to major in either Canine Training or Pet Grooming. The curriculum has been designed with a common core of coursework providing interdisciplinary educational elements critical for student success in the fields of canine training and pet grooming.

The Geographic Information and Global Positioning Technology captures interest and develops talent in mapping, scientific data collection, computers and much more. Firefighter Certificate

Our students apply direct, hands-on firefighting in our enclosed burn building; develop decision-making skills in life-like emergencies and learn to operate our fire trucks, including our 100-foot bucket truck.
With state-of-the-art firefighting equipment, experienced, certified instructors and hands-on practice, our students consistently achieve a 100% passing rate on the state-certified exam. The state mandate of Firefighter II Certification, for all full-time firefighter employees in Ohio, creates full-time, permanent employment for our Firefighter II students.
