If you are planning to transfer to another public institution in Ohio, completing the Ohio Transfer Module at Hocking College is a great option.
The Ohio Transfer Module (OTM) is embedded within our Associate of Arts (AA) degree and our Associate of Science (AS) degree options at Hocking College. Students completing an Applied Associate degree may choose to take additional coursework to complete the Ohio Transfer Module. Students in our Applied Associate degrees should work with their academic advisors and financial aid if they want to complete the Ohio Transfer Module.
The Ohio Transfer Module, which is a subset or the complete set of a public college's or university's general education requirement that represents a common body of knowledge and academic skills, is comprised of 36-40 semester hours of Ohio Transfer Module courses in the following fields:
Hocking College students who earn an Associate of Arts (AA) degree or Associate of Science (AS) degree, which includes the OTM, will have met the OTM requirements of the receiving institution. An institution will apply transferred courses to general education requirements which go beyond those included in the OTM on a course-by-course basis.
Hocking College students who have not earned an associate degree but who have completed our OTM will have met the OTM requirements of the receiving institution. An institution will apply transferred courses to general education requirements which go beyond those included in the OTM on a course-by-course basis. Students may be able to complete their Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree through a process called Reverse Transfer.
Students will receive credit for successfully completed courses from the OTM without having completed the entire module. The applicability of individual OTM-approved courses will depend on the approval type within the OTM. OTM courses reviewed and approved using only the established statewide learning outcomes will be guaranteed to be applied as equivalent courses at the receiving institution. If an equivalent course is unavailable, the credit hours associated with the course will be applied toward the appropriate area on a course-by-course basis.
Credit hours associated with OTM-approved courses that were reviewed and approved using a hybrid of established statewide guidelines and learning outcomes will be guaranteed to transfer among public institutions of higher education and be applied appropriately on a course-by-course basis.
This program is designed to meet individual goals and objectives.
