Housing

As the only two-year college in Ohio to offer college-owned residence halls, Hocking College is excited to offer you a unique experience. Although living on campus is not required, many students take advantage of this educational and fun opportunity. By becoming part of our living learning communities, your academic experience will be enhanced by the support services available and the convenience of being on campus to take advantage of the multitude of resources available.

Living-Learning Communities

One of the best reasons for living on campus is the opportunity to take advantage of being part of the living-learning communities. Students are arranged in each residence hall by area of study, encouraging the formation of friendships with others in their classes. In addition, a Resident Success Mentor (RSM) takes an active role in arranging study sessions for those residents as well as hosting other educational programs in the residence halls.

Another part of the responsibility of the RSMs is to meet with each student individually at least four times per year. They discuss students' progress in classes and involvement in activities to help them grow and develop their strengths. Most importantly, RSMs provide a private opportunity for students to ask for help or discuss concerns. RSMs can then help students make contact with the appropriate campus resources to ensure their success.
