Hocking College’s campus is cozy, connected, and designed with students in mind. Most residence halls are just a short 1–2 minute walk to class, giving you that sweet “sleep-in-and-still-make-it” convenience. The furthest dorms are about a mile out—roughly a 30-minute walk—but they come with perks like quick access to downtown Nelsonville and a scenic connection via the Hocking Adena Bikeway. Whether you’re steps from the lab or a breezy bike ride from the square, campus living fits your pace.

Let’s be real—living off campus gets expensive fast. Rent in Athens County can run you over $1,000 a month, and once you add food, internet, electricity, and water, you could be looking at $7,500 or more each semester. At Hocking, your housing and meal plan together cost just $5,105, and that covers your room, food, utilities, and Wi-Fi—all bundled up and ready to go. Plus, you're right here on campus, close to class, surrounded by friends, and part of all the action. Dorm life doesn’t just save you money—it makes college way more connected.

Packing for campus? We've got your back! Your dorm should feel like home, so bring the essentials: Twin XL bedding, shower shoes, towels, hygiene products, school supplies, and some decorations to make your space your own. Don’t forget the little things like a laundry basket, flashlight, and your favorite snacks (just don’t forget the Keurig!). That said, please leave the hot plates, candles, pets, microwaves, and mini-fridges at home—they’re not allowed for safety reasons and could result in a violation of housing policy. Let’s keep things cozy, safe, and Hawk-approved! 🦅
